2024 Bounce Back, Give Back Award

Denise Redeker, Founder & Executive Director of Heartfelt Help Foundation, was selected by the nationally renowned Chris Klug Foundation for its 2024 Bounce Back, Give Back award.  Check out Denise’s nomination in the CKF website to see why.

Chris Klug, an Olympic medalist snowboarder, liver transplant recipient, and first (thus far only) organ transplant recipient to win an Olympic medal after transplant, said, “The winner will be an individual who has received an organ, eye, or tissue transplant. The award recipient will not only have bounced back from their transplant, but they will also be someone who works to give back to the community. They live a healthy and active lifestyle and work to support others going through the transplant process. They will have achieved greatness by inspiring and motivating others to thrive post-transplant.”

CKF advocates nationwide for organ, eye, and tissue donation toward saving and improving lives through transplant.  Every day, 17 people die while waiting for a suitable organ.  100,000 people are waiting right now.  8 lives can be saved by 1 organ donor.  75 lives can be improved by 1 tissue donor.  Check out the CKF website to learn about organ donation, transplant success stories, how YOU can support the cause, and to register yourself TODAY to be a life-saving donor when you no longer can use what someone else desperately needs.  Register Me Now

Don’t think of organ donation as giving up part of yourself to keep a total stranger alive.  It’s really a total stranger giving up almost all of themselves to keep part of you alive.”  – Author Unknown

North Bay Spirit Award

The North Bay Spirit award was developed in a partnership of The Press Democrat newspaper and Comcast NBC Universal media to celebrate people who make a difference in their communities.  “In addition to highlighting remarkable individuals, the North Bay Spirit program aims to encourage volunteerism, raise visibility of nonprofits, and create a spirit of giving.”  “The award singles out volunteers who go all-in for a cause, often finding an enterprising way to fill a need in the community.

In February 2022, they chose Denise Redeker, Founder & Executive Director of Heartfelt Help Foundation, as the award winner for her “heartfelt help” to heart transplant recipients in Northern California who struggle to pay their transplant related expenses.
